History of the Institute

Based on the decision of the working group of June 19, 2024, created by the order of the rector No. 1287-FHD / 24 of March 19, 2014 within the framework of the issue considered at the meeting of the Academic Council of Osh State University No. 9 of June 20, 2024 " Analysis of the need to create institutes on the basis of the educational structures of Osh State University, conducting optimization at the level of faculties, educational institutes, higher schools, colleges and developing a justification for the faculty of Kyrgyz philology and journalism ( including other departments, except for the department of journalism ) , as well as the faculties of Russian philology and world languages and cultures , were united into the "Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication"

MATERIAL AND TECHNICAL BASE

The Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication has two libraries and two reading rooms. One of the libraries contains about 260,000 books, and the library of the Kyrgyz language and literature contains about 7,000 units of educational, methodological, fiction, philosophical, pedagogical, psychological and legal literature. In addition, the necessary periodicals and their supplements are available. Students can also use the libraries of the main academic building, as well as regional and city libraries .

Besides, There are 5 computer rooms for 100 students, 1 language lab , and 2 modern conference rooms.

RESEARCH DIRECTION

Each department of the institute has its own scientific direction, which is implemented by employees. Within the framework of scientific research directions, the faculty of the institute, doctoral students, applicants, postgraduate students, master's students and students conduct scientific research and work on a number of projects.

The Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, in addition to 15 departments, actively cooperates with the embassies of the USA and Great Britain, France, Germany in the Kyrgyz Republic, international organizations such as Tempu, Axels, DAAD, and organizes various seminars and conferences. At present At present, the Institute maintains close ties with more than 50 foreign educational institutions and participates in various international programs.

The educational process is carried out by 4 doctors of science, professors, 37 candidates of science, associate professors, 58 senior lecturers and teachers .

INCREASE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE TEACHING STAFF

The teaching staff of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication constantly improve their professional level by actively participating in relevant courses and seminars, including abroad - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Hungary and others.
